CCIW Weekly Honors: Swanson, Marantz Sweep Women’s Awards

NAPERVILLE — Wheaton’s Aubrey Swanson and Renata Marantz earned this week’s College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday after leading the Thunder in their meet against Calvin. 
 
Swanson delivered a series of standout swims, including the CCIW’s fastest 50 freestyle time and a lifetime best in the 100 butterfly, while Marantz excelled on the diving boards with top team scores and a career-best 3-meter performance.
 
Swimming: Aubrey Swanson, Wheaton
Swanson had a strong all-around performance in Wheaton’s meet against Calvin on Saturday. The sophomore opened competition by anchoring the medley relay with a 23.98-second split, then delivered the CCIW’s top time in the 50 freestyle at 24.61 and a lifetime-best 1:02.90 in the 100 butterfly. Swanson closed out the meet with a season-best 55.46 in the lead-off leg of the 400 freestyle relay, a mark that currently ranks fifth in the CCIW.
 
Diving: Renata Marantz, Wheaton
Marantz competed on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards versus Calvin, earning team-high scores of 148.40 and 140.30, respectively. Her 3-meter score marked a lifetime best and currently ranks second in the league.
