North Central Remains Unanimous No. 1 With CCIW Crown Secured

NAPERVILLE — North Central kept its grip on the top spot in NCAA Division III football, earning unanimous #1 status in both major national polls following games played last Saturday. The Cardinals, now 10-0 after a 24-7 win over Illinois Wesleyan, collected every first-place vote in the D3football.com Top 25 and the AFCA Division III Coaches’ Poll. 
 
North Central posted 625 points in the D3football.com rankings and 1300 points in the AFCA poll, maintaining the position it has carried throughout the fall. The Cardinals claimed the outright College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) championship on Saturday.
 
Wheaton continued its stay in the rankings after rolling past North Park, 52-6, to move to 8-2 on the season. The Thunder checked in at #19 in the D3football.com Top 25 with 211 points and were 20th in the coaches’ poll with 320 points, improving one spot from a week ago.
 
WashU also remained part of the national picture, receiving 11 points in the AFCA poll.
