NAPERVILLE — A pair of standout efforts headlined the conference slate as Wheaton’s Jac Cummings delivered a perfect weekend in the pool, while Carthage’s Taydin Murphy swept both boards with season-best scores. Their performances propelled each to College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athlete of the Week recognition.
Swimming: Jac Cummings, Wheaton
Cummings, a sophomore, delivered a spotless performance in the Thunder’s dual meet against Carthage last Friday and Saturday, going 7-for-7 across the event. Cummings swept his three individual events – the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke -- and added victories on four winning relays.
He turned in season-best marks in the 50 free (21.60), 100 free (48.76 relay leadoff) and 200 back (2:00.38), while his winning 100 back (53.08) stood as his second-fastest of the year.
