NAPERVILLE — Illinois Wesleyan collected another program first on Tuesday, ascending to #2 in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) national rankings. It’s the highest mark in program history for the Titans.
IWU is now 26-2 overall after claiming the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament title last week. The Titans earned three-set wins over Wheaton and Carthage to secure their second straight league title. IWU has won 10 matches in a row since Oct. 18 and will host Asbury in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday in Bloomington.
East Texas Baptist (31-0) is the final unbeaten team in Division III and the only team ranked ahead of IWU, earning 82 of 86 first-place votes.
