North Central Sweeps Top Spot in D3football.com, AFCA Polls

NAPERVILLE — North Central is the unanimous #1 in Division III football, according to polls released by both D3football.com on Sunday and the America Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Monday. It’s the first week in 2025 the Cardinals have collected every first-place vote from both national polls.
 
NCC remained one of eight undefeated teams in the polls last Saturday, earning a 64-7 over Carroll in Waukesha, Wis. The Cardinals have the maximum 625 points from D3football.com and the maximum 1,300 points from the coaches.
 
Wheaton was a 65-0 winner over Elmhurst on Saturday and climbed one spot to #18 in the D3football.com rankings. The Thunder, 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), remained firm at #21 in the AFCA poll.
 
WashU received one point in the coaches’ poll. The Bears won at Millikin last Saturday, 38-7, to improve to 6-2 on the year.
