NAPERVILLE — Five football student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) were honored on Wednesday with selections to the 2025 Division III Coaches’ All-America Team, as announced by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). The CCIW produced three First Team honorees and two Second Team selections, representing Carroll, North Central and Wheaton.
Carroll senior tight end Reed Breckheimer earned a place on the AFCA First Team, becoming just the second First Team All-American in CU history. A First Team All-CCIW selection, Breckheimer had 46 receptions for 488 yards and one touchdown, complemented by 49 rushing attempts for 308 yards and nine scores.
North Central landed two First Team selections, starting with senior wide receiver Thomas Skokna, who leads Division III with 23 receiving touchdowns. Skokna has 73 catches for 1,143 yards and was recently named a semifinalist for the Gagliardi Trophy. Joining him on the First Team is senior defensive lineman John Sullivan, who earned his second consecutive AFCA All-America honor after leading the Cardinals with 19.5 tackles for loss, a mark that ranks 21st nationally.
Two more from the CCIW were named to the AFCA Second Team. Wheaton senior defensive lineman Peter Johanik earned the recognition after securing his third consecutive All-CCIW First Team award and becoming Wheaton’s all-time leader in tackles for loss with 60 career TFLs. This season, Johanik led the conference with 16.5 tackles for loss and tied for first with 8.5 sacks. North Central’s Aidan Ellison was selected as the Second Team kicker, ranking second in Division III in field goal percentage (92.9%) after converting 13 of 14 attempts. Ellison also delivered the longest field goal in the nation this season, a 57-yard make against Augustana.
North Central’s trio of All-Americans marks the program’s sixth straight season with AFCA honorees, while Johanik’s selection extends Wheaton’s Division III–leading streak to 11 consecutive years with at least one AFCA All-American. The AFCA has selected All-America teams annually since 1945.
