CCIW Lands 12 on AP Division III All-America Team; North Central Leads Way

NAPERVILLE —The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) placed 12 student-athletes from four member institutions on the 2025 Associated Press Division III All-America Team, announced Thursday. North Central led Division III with seven selections, followed by Wheaton with three, while Carroll and Illinois Wesleyan each added one. 
 
The Cardinals also claimed two of the AP’s top individual honors, with senior defensive lineman John Sullivan named Division III Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Brad Spencer selected as Division III Coach of the Year.
 
North Central’s seven selections included four First Team honorees. Sullivan anchored one of the nation’s top defenses with 64 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and seven sacks. Senior wide receiver Thomas Skokna earned First Team recognition after leading Division III with 23 touchdown receptions and totaling 75 catches for 1,156 yards, earning CCIW Art Keller Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year honors. Junior offensive lineman Cortez Jones helped power the nation’s top-scoring offense, while senior defensive back Rahmareon Roby added four interceptions, nine pass breakups and two interception return touchdowns.
 
The Cardinals added three AP Second Team selections, led by sophomore quarterback Garret Wilson, who posted a Division III-best 204.0 passing efficiency rating while throwing 39 touchdown passes. Senior offensive lineman Jerred Durian earned Second Team honors after starting every game at center without allowing a sack, and senior kicker Aidan Ellison was recognized after converting 13-of-15 field-goal attempts, including a 57-yard kick that stood as the longest in Division III and program history.
 
Carroll senior tight end Reed Breckheimer became the first Pioneer in program history to earn AP Division III First Team All-America honors, finishing the season with 46 receptions for 488 yards, 308 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns.
 
Wheaton placed three student-athletes on the teams, led by Second Team selections Peter Johanik and Colin Moore. Johanik led the CCIW with 23 tackles for loss and 14 sacks, while Moore tied for the Division III lead with eight interceptions. Senior offensive tackle Aidan Kingsbury earned Third Team recognition.
 
Illinois Wesleyan junior long snapper Zach Hansen rounded out the CCIW selections with AP Second Team honors, becoming the program’s first All-America long snapper and first AP All-American since 2018.
