NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Men’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week for matches played between Monday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 16.
Hitter: Ty Ingrao, North Park, Senior (Rockford, Ill.)
Ingrao totaled 39 kills with a .338 hitting percentage in the Vikings’ three wins at the Calvin Invite last week in Grand Rapids, Mich.. He had averages of 3.90 kills, 1.40 digs and 0.70 service aces per set.
Ingrao had 14 kills in a sweep of Adrian on Friday. He followed with 15 kills and three service aces in a four-set winner against St. Norbert on Saturday, then put down 10 kills with a .421 hitting percentage and a season-high four service aces Saturday against Rockford.
Setter: Ryan Morey, Carthage, Junior (Redwood City, Calif.)
Morey had a pair of 30-assist matches for the Firebirds last week, giving him seven matches with at least 30 assists this season.
In three-set victories over Concordia Wisconsin and Benedictine, Morey averaged 11.17 assists per set. The Firebirds attacked at a season-high clip of .487 in last Tuesday’s sweep of CUW.
Defensive: Tom Lamb, Augustana, Junior (Chicago, Ill.)
Lamb and the Vikings were 3-0 last week with victories over St. Ambrose, Marian and Mount St. Joseph thanks in part to Lamb’s average of 1.27 blocks per set.
Lamb – who also totaled 23.0 points scored in the three matches – had six total blocks in the Saturday win at Marian and five blocks later in the day against Mount Sat. Joseph.
