NAPERVILLE – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Men’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week for matches played between Monday, March 24 and Sunday, March 30.
 
Hitter: Corey Mayotte, Loras, Senior (Geneva, Ill.)
Mayotte earned his fourth CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week nod of the season after breaking the all-time Loras kills record last week. Mayotte currently has 1,215 career kills after putting down 21 kills on 33 swings in the Duhawks’ sweep of #14 North Central on Saturday.
 
Mayotte, who also had 15 kills in last Wednesday’s victory at North Park, averaged 6.42 points and 6.00 kills per set across the two matches. He attacked at a .485 clip for the 13th-ranked Duhawks.
 
Setter: Colin Schaefer, Augustana, Sophomore (Northbrook, Ill.)
Schaefer piled up 39 assists in the Vikings’ sweep of North Park on Saturday in Rock Island. The performance marked the third-most assists in a three-set match by a CCIW player this season. He added seven digs in the victory.
 
Defensive: Owen Hendricks, Carthage, Sophomore (North Aurora, Ill.)
Hendricks repeated as CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week after helping the #6 Firebirds to a five-set triumph over Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday in Kenosha. Hendricks logged eight digs, seven block assists and also contributed offensively with seven kills in the win.
