CCIW AND THE NPI
New to Division III women’s lacrosse in 2025, the NCAA Power Index (NPI) is a system that houses the division’s statistical data and objectively applies the selection criteria to the data based on the sport committee’s established weighted criteria. The rankings are used to select at-large teams for NCAA Championships.

The latest NPI rankings, including games through April 13, were released by the NCAA this week.

55. Carroll
58. Carthage
123. North Central
153. Illinois Wesleyan
193. Elmhurst
195. Augustana

AROUND THE CCIW
Augustana junior Madison Langewisch (West Hills, Calif.) registered two goals, two ground balls, a caused turnover and a draw control in the Vikings’ loss at Carthage last Saturday. Langewisch, who has totaled 128 points in 38 career games since 2023, remains Augie’s leader in scoring in 2025 with 3.91 points per game. The Vikings (4-8, 0-2 CCIW) will travel to Elmhurst Saturday for a 3 p.m. start.

Carroll senior Abby Stas (Watertown, Wis.) scored a career-best five goals as one of three Pioneers to have a five-point game in an 18-0 victory over Elmhurst on Wednesday. Stas now has 78 points in 44 career games since 2022. The decision on Wednesday marked Carroll’s first shutout victory since a 15-0 win over Marian on March 24, 2024 – a span of 23 games. The Pios (9-3, 3-0 CCIW) visit North Central Saturday at 5 p.m.

Carthage sophomore Kara Jaynes (Fishers, Ind.) made 10 saves and limited Augustana to just two goals in the Firebirds’ 21-2 win in Kenosha last Saturday. The performance marked the third time Jaynes has had at least 10 saves in a game this season and lowered her season goals-against average to 7.53 – second-lowest in the CCIW among goalies with at least 180 minutes played. The Firebirds (9-3, 1-1 CCIW) will be the visitors this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Illinois Wesleyan.

Elmhurst senior Gracie Eastman (Austin, Texas) recorded five of the Bluejays’ eight draw controls and added two goals and an assist in EU’s 8-6 loss versus North Central last Saturday at Langhorst Field. Eastman’s assist was the 23rd of her career and 15th of the 2025 season. Her assist total in 2025 and 1.50 assists per game rank second in the CCIW. The Bluejays (5-5, 0-2 CCIW) play their final home game of the regular season Saturday at 3 p.m. against Augustana.

Illinois Wesleyan junior Anelise DiGiovanni (Lockport, Ill.) tied a career-best with three goals and established new personal highs with two assists and five points to help the Titans take down North Central on Wednesday at Tucci Stadium, 22-13. The performance helped IWU reach the 20-goal plateau for the third time this season. The Titans (7-7, 2-1 CCIW) will play the middle game of a three-game homestand to end the regular season on Saturday against Carthage at 1 p.m.

North Central senior Lucy Culig (Littleton, Colo.) scored her 15th goal of the season in the third quarter and later assisted on the game-tying strike late in the fourth quarter to help the Cardinals rally for an 8-6 win at Elmhurst last Saturday. Culig also collected two ground balls and led NCC with three draw controls. NCC (8-4, 1-1 CCIW) has won three of its last five games, is 4-1 at home and will play its last three at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, starting Saturday at 5 p.m. against Carroll.
