NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced Tuesday that North Park’s Annaliese Rottman and Kendal Britton, along with Illinois Wesleyan’s Kannyn Boyd, were selected as the CCIW Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week for matches played Aug. 29-30.
 
Hitter: Annaliese Rottman, North Park
Rottman, a senior outside hitter, put down a career-high 22 kills in NPU’s season-opening win over Wooster last Friday in four sets. The Okemos, Mich. native tallied 52 kills in four matches, averaging 4.33 kills per set to help the Vikings sweep the weekend and open the campaign a perfect 4-0. 
 
She added two more double-digit kill performances, tallying 13 in Saturday’s sweep of Muskingum and 11 kills in another Saturday sweep versus Washington & Jefferson. She attacked at a .245 clip on 143 swings.
 
Setter: Kendal Britton, North Park
Britton gave the Vikings 11.23 assists per set in their four victories, including a new personal career best with 47 assists Friday against Wooster. Britton, who tacked on 11 digs for a double-double in the opener, is the CCIW leader in assists after the season’s opening weekend.
 
The junior from Grand Rapids, Mich. added 29 digs and six service aces through the season’s first four contests. She logged 37 assists, four kills and three blocks to lift NPU over Washington & Jefferson on Saturday.
 
Defensive: Kannyn Boyd, Illinois Wesleyan
Boyd drove the Illinois Wesleyan defense in its 3-0 start to the season, posting 65 digs for a league-best 5.91 digs per set. Her 32 digs in Friday’s opener versus Earlham pushed her past the 1,000-dig mark for her career. She also registered seven assists and two service aces Friday.
 
The senior put up 11 digs, four assists and a pair of aces in a sweep of Greenville early Saturday, then finished the opening weekend with 22 digs, an ace and an assist to lead IWU to a sweep of 20th-ranked Chicago Saturday afternoon at the Shirk Center.
