NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) recognized Luke Vander Kolk of Wheaton and Kevin Perez of North Park as this week’s Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Offensive: Luke Vander Kolk, Wheaton
Vander Kolk scored twice and added two more assists to vault Wheaton over Chapman in Friday’s opener at Joe Bean Stadium, 4-2. Vander Kolk’s second tally at 75:33 proved to be the match winner, the second of his career.

The junior from Stamford, Conn. led all players with four shots on goal despite playing only 62 minutes on Friday. He also led all players with two shots on frame in the Thunder’s 2-2 draw with 20th-ranked Colorado College on Saturday.

Defensive: Kevin Perez, North Park
North Park was 3-0 winner over Dubuque on Friday thanks to Perez’s efforts at both ends of the pitch.

The Glenview, Ill. native delivered his first career goal as the match winner in the seventh minute versus the Spartans at Holmgren Athletic Complex. In his first career start, Perez also anchored an NPU defense that did not allow a shot on frame or a corner kick from UD.
