NAPERVILLE --- Illinois Wesleyan’s Keira Robinson and Wheaton’s Leah Roe have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week.
Offensive: Keira Robinson, Illinois Wesleyan
Robinson scored four goals in three games for Illinois Wesleyan this week. In the Titans 4-1 win over Knox last Wednesday, Sept. 24, Robinson scored IWU’s first two goals, both coming in the first period. On Saturday against Wisconsin-Platteville, Robinson again recorded a multi-score game after two goals in the second period. It is the first time a Titan has scored multiple goals in back-to-back games since 2022.
After four scores this week, Robinson is up to five on the season, which vaults her into a tie for the second-most goals scored in the CCIW this season.
Defensive: Leah Roe, Wheaton
Roe posted a 0.00 goals-against average with a pair of shutouts last week for the Thunder.
She made four saves in a 0-0 draw with Wisconsin-Whitewater last Wednesday, then marshalled her back line and made multiple important catches and clearances in Saturday's 1-0 CCIW victory over Elmhurst to help stop an attacking unit that has already scored 29 goals this year.
