NAPERVILLE — Illinois Wesleyan is eighth in the new TARAFLEX/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) national poll, according to a Tuesday afternoon announcement.
The Titans had 1,485 points in the poll and moved down one spot from the previous week.
IWU is 13-1 overall and split two matches against nationally ranked opponents on Saturday in Holland, Mich. The Titans swept 14th-ranked Marietta and dropped a four-set decision at host #18 Hope. The results came after a three-set College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) sweep of Elmhurst last Wednesday at the Shirk Center.
La Verne is still ranked #1 in the new poll. East Texas Baptist, Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Wisconsin-Whitewater were unchanged as the top four.
Carthage logged 21 points in the new rankings and North Park collected nine points.
