Illinois Wesleyan’s Grace Fagan shoots one-under-par to move into first place.

METAMORA, Ill. - Following a rainy opening day of the 2026 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Golf Championship, the skies cleared for a great day of highly competitive action at Metamora Fields.

Nationally ranked No. 17 Illinois Wesleyan University built on its early lead with a dominant second day of competition. The Titans hold a score of 15-over-par 583, fueled by all four of their scoring players holding spots in the top five.

The other seven competing teams remained in the same spots in the standings, with no teams moving up or down. The final round may shake things up, with some teams neck-and-neck with one another.

Carthage College held onto its spot in second place after shooting a Round 2 score of 33-over-par 317 for a total score of 50-over-par 618. Augustana College remains in third with a score of 70-over-par 638, while North Central College sits in fourth, just four strokes behind the Vikings, with a score of 74-over-par 642. Following the top four are Millikin University (+90, 658), Carroll University (+107, 675), Wheaton College (+130, 698) and Elmhurst University (+145, 713).

The Titans added just three strokes to their total score in Round 2 and hold four scoring players in the top five with Grace Fagan (+1, 143), Natalie Ocheltree (+4, 146), Nora Cerroni (+4, 146) and Emily Gastrau (+6, 148). After shooting 3-over-par 74 in Round 1, Fagan carded the best individual round of the tournament in Round 2 with a 1-under 70. This shaved two strokes off her total score and allowed her to move into first place with a three-stroke advantage over second place.

Carthage’s Lexi Manteufel held onto a spot in the top five, sitting fifth with a total score of 10-over-par 152. Round 1 leader Ro Longden of Carthage is tied for sixth with Augustana’s Madison Barnes at 11-over-par 153.

Competition concludes tomorrow after a total of 54 holes. Illinois Wesleyan holds a commanding lead, but the other seven squads will look to close the gap.

The final round tees off tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. Awards will follow the conclusion of the championship, with the Elite 26, RESPECT Award and All-CCIW honors announced before the team champion is crowned.
