NAPERVILLE— The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced Monday that North Park senior guard Kolden Vanlandingham has been named the CCIW Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. The honor is Vanlandingham’s third weekly award of the season.
 
A native of Richmond, Ind., Vanlandingham helped guide North Park to a pair of conference wins last week while averaging 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He shot 57.6 percent (19-for-33) from the field, 45.5 percent (5-for-11) from three-point range, and 90.0 percent (9-for-10) at the free-throw line across the two contests.
 
In North Park’s 79-77 road win at Augustana last Wednesday, Vanlandingham finished with 29 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. With the score tied in the closing seconds, he scored on a driving layup with two seconds remaining to provide the game-winning points.
 
He followed with 23 points and a game-high seven steals in a 95-92 victory against Wheaton on Saturday. Vanlandingham again supplied the go-ahead basket, hitting a turnaround midrange jumper with approximately 30 seconds left to break a 92-92 tie.
 
Vanlandingham’s week helped lift North Park to 14-9 overall and 7-7 in CCIW play, moving the Vikings into fourth place in the conference standings.
