CCIW Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors Announced

NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its latest Men’s Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, recognizing one offensive and one defensive honoree for performances during the opening weeks of the 2026 season.
 
Offensive: Eli Spence, Elmhurst
Spence collected the league’s offensive award following his performance in Elmhurst’s 11-10 victory over No. 19 Denison. Spence led all players in the game with five points on three goals and two assists. 
 
After Denison tied the game at 9-9 late in regulation, Spence scored Elmhurst’s next two goals, including the game-winning goal, to help the Bluejays record the program’s first win over a nationally ranked opponent. He also added three ground balls and two caused turnovers in the contest.
 
Defensive: Jamar Taylor, Augustana

Taylor, a freshman defenseman from Inglewood, Calif., was selected as the CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in Augustana’s defensive unit. In a 13-5 win over Earlham, 
 
Taylor led the team with nine ground balls and four caused turnovers. He also recorded two assists in the victory, including an assist on the Vikings’ first goal of the match. Over two games during the week, Taylor totaled 12 ground balls, including three in a midweek game against Benedictine.
