CCIW Co-Champions Carroll and Illinois Wesleyan Move Up in National Polls

NAPERVILLE — Just days after sharing the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) regular-season championship, Carroll and Illinois Wesleyan both moved up in the latest national women’s basketball rankings following the conclusion of the regular season. 
 
In the D3hoops.com Top 25 released Monday, Carroll rose one spot to No. 12. Illinois Wesleyan also moved up one position to No. 14 after wins over Wheaton and Augustana improved the Titans to 20-5 overall.
 
Both programs also advanced in the WBCA Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday. Illinois Wesleyan moved from No. 17 to No. 16, while Carroll climbed two positions to No. 18. Both teams completed conference play with 15-1 records.
 
At the top of both national polls, NYU (24-0) remained the unanimous No. 1 team, followed by Scranton (25-0), Johns Hopkins (24-0), and Washington and Lee (25-0) in the top four positions. The polls differed at No. 5, with D3hoops.com listing Wisconsin-Oshkosh (23-2) and the WBCA Coaches’ Poll ranking Smith (24-1).
