AURORA, Ill. --- Clinching its fifth straight College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Regular Season Championship, the North Central College men's wrestling team defeated the Aurora University Spartans, 45-3, on Thursday night inside Thornton Gymnasium.
The Cardinals won nine of the 10 matches in the dual beginning with the 125-pound match as Joey Sikorsky faced Zane Ely. Sikorsky defeated Ely by a 23-5 technical fall. Top-ranked 133-pound Ethan Spacht picked up his 14th pinfall of the season, going over Tyler Evitts.
No. 6 ranked 141-pound wrestler Joshua Robison continued the win streak for North Central. Facing Jake Penzato, Robison earned a 16-2 major decision to give the Cardinals a 15-0 lead. Tyler Starr kept the Cardinals rolling in the 149-pound bout with a 17-0 technical fall over Alex Gochis.
North Central suffered its only loss of the night in the 157-pound match as Kayle Bearson lost a 4-3 decision to Ashton Massaro. The Cardinals took a 23-3 lead after the 165-pound match went in favor of Mekhi Cave, picking up a 4-1 sudden victory over Jack Seacrist.
Jake Luce picked up the Cardinals' third technical fall of the dual in the 174-pound match, shutting out Clayton McKee 15-0. Casey Aikman followed up Luce in the 184-pound bout with a 20-4 technical fall over Alton Mullinax.
The night concluded with AJ Frescura pinning Oscar Cervantes in the 197-pound match and Luke Chrisse pinning Elijah Osit in the 285-pound match.
The Cardinals finish the regular season with a 10-4 record in duals and finish the 2025-26 CCIW season undefeated with a 7-0 record. North Central extends its CCIW dual win streak to 64.
North Central returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 14, for the CCIW Championships hosted by Carthage College.
