NAPERVILLE — The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced its Men’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday, recognizing Ryan Bartz of Carthage (Hitter), Ethan Kuziela of Illinois Wesleyan (Setter) and Chris Mactal of North Central (Defensive).
 
Hitter: Ryan Bartz, Carthage
Bartz, a senior from Muskego, Wis., helped the No. 2-ranked Firebirds to a 2-1 record during a three-match road trip. Bartz totaled 38 kills (4.75 per set) while hitting .385. He recorded 21 kills in a four-set match against No. 3 Stevens and added 15 kills while hitting .333 in a straight-sets win over No. 12 Vassar. Bartz finished the week with 41.0 points, 13 digs and four blocks.
 
Setter: Ethan Kuziela, Illinois Wesleyan
Kuziela directed the Titans to a 1-1 week. The Chicago native averaged 5.38 assists, 2.25 kills and 0.75 blocks per set while hitting .333. In a straight-sets win over No. 19 MSOE, Kuziela recorded nine kills on 17 attempts while hitting .529 with no errors. He also posted 24 assists and three service aces in a five-set match against Dominican.

Defensive: Chris Mactal, North Central
Mactal led the Cardinals to a 2-0 week with straight-sets wins over Wisconsin Lutheran and Calvin. Mactal totaled 11 blocks (two solo, nine assists) to average 1.57 blocks per set. He registered six blocks against Calvin, tying for the sixth-best single-match total in program history. Mactal also recorded 11 kills on 24 attempts while hitting .333.
