Augustana
The Vikings enter this weekend’s championship in second place in the CCIW standings. Shannen McNamara was 5-2 at No. 1 singles this season and is 9-3 overall. Kim Sawyer was 10-2 in singles play including a 5-1 record at the No. 2 spot.
Carthage
Carthage’s Amanda Bizub finished with the highest winning percentage for the Lady Reds during the fall, going 7-2 including a 5-1 record in conference, primarily at the No. 5 position. Kristina Nadicz was 8-3 in singles play, while in doubles, Nadicz and Hollis McPeek finished 10-3 during the regular season including a 4-1 conference record.
Elmhurst
Elmhurst’s Virginia Dallman was 5-5 at No. 1 singles including a 3-2 conference record during the regular season. Alex Stark finished 4-5 playing primarily at the No. 4 position.
Illinois Wesleyan
Cassie Devore finished 11-5 in singles play this season including a 5-1 conference record, primarily at the No. 4 position. Alissa Goetz was 7-2, mostly at No. 2 singles. Goetz and teammate Lauren Drawbridge were 5-1 in doubles play this season, going 4-1 at No. 3 and 1-0 at No. 2.
Millikin
Millikin’s Megan Crist was 2-4 in singles play during the fall season for the Big Blue. Brianna Hogan and Sarah Kidwell finished with identical 2-8 singles play records.
North Central
North Central was led by veterans Abigail Conover, Alicia DeGrado and Cory Schillerstrom during the fall. Conover finished 18-4 including an 11-2 record at No. 3 singles. DeGrado was 11-7 (8-5 at No. 2 singles). Schillerstrom was 12-6 (9-4 at No. 1 singles).
Wheaton
Wheaton has won the CCIW women’s tennis title in each of the last five seasons and has won 15 titles in school history. Kirsten Boyer (6-0), Sara Federschmidt (6-0), Sarah Ray (6-0), Marissa Shults (5-0) and Elizabeth Worsowicz (6-0) all went through the conference season having not lost a match in singles play. Federschidt and Worsowicz went 5-0 in conference play at No. 1 doubles while Boyer and Ray also finished 5-0 in conference play, all at No. 3 doubles.
