Augustana [Men] [Women]
The Vikings enter this weekend’s conference championship ranked 19th in the October 20 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Cross Country Poll. Augustana has been ranked in the top 20 every week so far this season. The Vikings recently finished 10th at the 47-team Wisconsin Oshkosh Brooks Invitational. Mike Tisza (Prospect Heights, Ill./Hersey) finished 35th (25:23) while Billy TenBusch (Cary, Ill./Prairie Ridge) was 48th (26:04).
Augustana recently placed third at the Loras Invitational on October 14. Sarahbeth Jones (Wadsworth, Ill./Warren Township) was the Vikings’ top finisher, placing third with a time of 23:24.1. Becca Sund (Palatine, Ill./H.S.) was fifth (23:34.9) and Stephanie Burbridge (Palatine, Ill./H.S.) was 10th (24:31.9).
Carthage [Men] [Women]
Carthage recently placed 34th at the Brooks Invitational as Jake Mahaffey (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour) was the Red Men’s top finisher at 111th with a time of 26:39. J.D. Fuller (Woodstock, Ill./H.S.) finished with Carthage’s second-fastest time as he placed 204th out of 434 runners with a time of 27:36.
Carthage was a 26th-place finisher at the 43-team Wisconsin Oshkosh Brooks Invitational on October 15. Karin Wirth (Springfield, Ill./Pleasant Plains) was 73rd out of 395 runners (23:19.93) and Katie Kummerer (Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale Central) finished 115th (23:47.24).
Elmhurst [Men] [Women]
Elmhurst was a 24th-place finisher at the Brooks Invitaional as Jake Austin (Yorkville, Ill./H.S.) placed 39th with a time of 25:54. Doug Vrchota (Elmwood, Ill./H.S.) was 119th (26:41).
Elmhurst placed 31st at the Brooks Invitational as Lauren Williams (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) finished 120th with a time of 23:50.28. Mariola Grzybowska (Addison, Ill./Addison Trail) was 177th (24:20.97).
Illinois Wesleyan [Men] [Women]
Illinois Wesleyan finished 22nd in the 47-team Brooks Invitational. T.J. Luby (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) was the Titans’ top finisher as he placed 49th (26:05). Bobby Castillo (Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South) was 137th out of 434 runners (26:55).
Illinois Wesleyan finished 21st at the Brooks Invitational as Rachel Williams (Minooka, Ill./H.S.) was the Titans’ best finisher, placing 46th with a time of 23:00. Elise Anderson (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) was 96th with a time of 23:38.
Millikin [Men] [Women]
The Big Blue recently finished fifth at the Illinois College Cross Country meet on October 15. Kyle Deeken (O’Fallon, Mo./Fort Zumwait North) finished seventh with a time of 26:46 while Eric Gibbs (Decatur, Ill./Warrensburg-Latham) was 10th (27:13).
Millikin’s Amanda Meeker (Pacific, Mo./H.S.) finished in 20th in a 6K time of 25:16 at the Illinois College Cross Country meet on October 15. Liz Wrobel (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) finished 25th with a time of 25:53. The Big Blue did not record a team score.
North Central [Men] [Women]
North Central enters this weekend’s conference championship ranked first in the October 20 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Cross Country Poll. It was the seventh-consecutive poll that the Cardinals have been ranked No. 1. North Central won the Brooks Invitational on October 15, tallying 49 points. Matt Perez (Hanover Park, Ill./Oklahoma State) finished fourth (25:07), Dan Kerley (Vienna, Ill./H.S.) was fifth (25:11), Matt Brinkmeier (Rockton, Ill. / Hononegah) was ninth (25:17) and John Crain (Dunlap, Ill./H.S.) was 10th (25:17).

The Cardinals finished ninth at the Brooks Invitational as Krista Cota (Eldridge, Iowa/North Scott) finished seventh with a time of 22:18. Alicia Zimmerman (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) was 13th (22:26), Lauren Hooks (Decatur, Ill./Mt. Zion) was 74th (23:21) and Kayla Bingham (Barrington, Ill./H.S.) was 77th (23:25).

North Park recently placed sixth at the North Central on October 21 as James Kriticos (Lincolnwood, Ill./Niles West) completed the 8K course in 31:00.
North Park’s Laura Sorg (Goshen, Ind./H.S.) recorded a season-best time of 27:09 in the 6K at the North Central Invitational on October 21. The Vikings did not record a team score.
Wheaton [Men] [Women]
Wheaton enters this weekend’s conference championship ranked fifth in the October 20 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Cross Country Poll. The Thunder took third at the Brooks Invitational as Mark Phillips (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Academy) placed 16th with a time of 25:30. Jake Waterman (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) was 18th with a time of 25:33.
Wheaton placed 24th at the Brooks Invitational as Annie Shults (Hurley, N.Y./John A. Coleman) was the Thunder’s top performer, placing 102nd in a field of 395 runners (23:42). Jennifer Anderson (Ada, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) was 131st (24:04).
