Augustana
The Vikings placed third at the Clarke Fall Invitational last weekend in their final tune-up before the CCIW Championship. Brittany Carr (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) shot a 91 to finish first. Jamie Lawrence (Moline, Ill./H.S.) was named the CCIW Women’s Golfer of the Week on September 21 after she shot back-to-back 83s at the Benedictine Invitational, which Augustana won the team title.
Carthage
Carthage recently placed fourth at the seven-team Saint Francis Invitational, finishing with a team score of 348. Erin Holst (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) tied for third place with a score of 82. A week earlier, the Lady Reds placed second at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Fling, shooting a two-day score of 658 (330-328). Heidi Chronowski (Monticello, Iowa/H.S.) finished fourth (83-77-160). Carthage placed in the “Also Receiving Votes” category (21 votes) in the October 3 edition of the Golf World/NGCA Coaches’ Poll.
Elmhurst
Elmhurst took first at the Loras Invitational on September 24 as three Bluejay golfers placed in the top five. Ashley Beverage (Normal, Ill./University) placed second (93-82-175) while teammate Amanda Wright (Lake Zurich, Ill./H.S.) was third (90-89-179). Jordan Maisto (St. Charles, Ill./Burlington Central) tied for fourth (92-89-181).
Illinois Wesleyan
Illinois Wesleyan placed third in the rain-shortened DePauw Small College Classic last week with a two-day score of 493 (330-163). Katie Klosterman (Effingham, Ill./H.S.) took home medalist honors (77-38-115). Megan Geraghty (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Prospect) placed seventh (82-41-123). The Titans also placed fourth during its fall classic September 17-18 as Geraghty (82-80-162) and Klosterman (86-76-162) finished tied for 22nd. Illinois Wesleyan was recently ranked in a tie for sixth with Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the October 3 edition of the Golf World/NGCA Coaches’ Poll.
Millikin
Millikin finished third at the Grinnell Invitational on October 1, carding a one-day score of 368. Lauren Abrahamsson (Troy, Ill./Triad) finished tied for seventh with a score of 89. The Big Blue also placed fifth at its own Fall Classic on September 25, finishing with a score of 679 (345-334). Brittany Holmes (Forsyth, Ill./Maroa-Forsyth) finished tied for eighth (80-77-157).
North Central
North Central was recently ranked 24th in the October 3 edition of the Golf World/NGCA Coaches’ Poll. The Cardinals won the Saint Francis Fall Invitational last week, finishing with a score of 333 in the seven-team event. Mallory Carr (Minooka, Ill./H.S.) took medalist honors, shooting a 79. Mary Kate Rohn (Elmhurst, Ill./York) placed fifth with a score of 83. Rohn was named the CCIW Women’s Golfer of the Week on September 28 after a fifth-place finish (77-78-155) at the Millikin Fall Classic.
North Park
North Park finished fourth at the two-day Benedictine Invitational (437-397-834) September 17-18. Kait Scott (Uniontown, Ohio/Lake) led the Vikings with a 20th place finish (97-90-187).
Wheaton
Debby Bouzos (Greenwood, Ind./Scotts) finished tied for first with a one-day score of 80 during the Elmhurst Invitational on September 20. Two weeks earlier, Bouzos won medalist honors at the Knox Invitational on September 9. Wheaton placed in the “Also Receiving Votes” category (21 votes) in the October 3 edition of the Golf World/NGCA Coaches’ Poll.
