Dave Wrath, a 1980 Augustana College graduate, returned to his alma mater in 1981 as the institution's Sports Information Director. He retired in June of 2021 as the Associate Director of Athletics for Media and Alumni Relations, serving the Vikings for 40 years. Additionally, he served as the CCIW's Sports Information Director from 1996 to 2005, helping orchestrate the conference's academic all-conference program during his tenure. 

He was inducted into the Augustana Tribe of Vikings Hall of Fame in 2009 and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Hall of Fame in 2003.

Of Augustana's 177 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 166 of them were processed under Wrath's watch between 1981 and 2021.
