NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carthage’s Jake Mahaffey was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Tuesday.

Mahaffey, a sophomore from Mahomet, Ill., and Mahomet-Seymour High School, finished second in the 8K (26:27.33) during the October 9 Gene Davis Invitational, hosted by Lawrence University. The Red Men finished first in the event with 32 points. Mahaffey is a Physics and Chemistry double major.
