NAPERVILLE, Ill. — North Central College junior Ricky Klein has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Klein finished 16th at the Augustana Interregional, posting a personal-best 8-kilometer time of 24 minutes, 38 seconds. The performance marked the first time the Buffalo Grove, Ill., native finished an 8K race in under 25 minutes.

Klein’s performance helped North Central finish second in the team standings behind No. 1 Wartburg College. The Cardinals finished ahead of several other nationally ranked NCAA Division III programs in the field.

No. 11 nationally ranked North Central and Klein return to action at the CCIW Cross Country Championships on Oct. 31.
