NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carthage’s
Herman Abban was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Abban, a junior from Accra, Ghana and Accra High School (Exercise Sport Science major), went 4-0 between No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles over the weekend, which moved his record to 12-0 this spring. He teamed with Pawel Jaworski at No. 1 doubles and beat Hope’s Mark VanderStoep and Christian Rhoades (8-1) and Wabash’s William Reifeis and Patrick McAuley (8-3). Abban also beat Reifeis (6-3, 6-3) and Hope’s Michael Kiley (6-2, 6-3) at No. 1 singles.
