Carthage Falls to No. 4 Denison in the NCAA Tournament

GRANVILLE, Ohio --- The Carthage men's tennis team faced off against Denison in the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament at the Denison Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon. In a hard fought battle, the Firebirds came up short and concluded their NCAA tournament run.
 
In doubles play, Luca Okino and Victor Pimenta fell 6-1 to Jacob Patterson and Wesley Huang in No. 2 doubles. Finn Morris and Diego Silva then dropped a 6-3 contest against Ethan Green and Kael Shah in No. 1 doubles. Denison took a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

In singles play, Silva lost a 6-1, 6-1 contest in No. 2 singles against Shah. Pimenta dropped a No. 6 singles contest with a pair of 6-0 losses to Anthony Payiavlas. Denison then claimed the match as Patterson defeated Morris 6-2, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.
