2017 CCIW Women's Lacrosse Tournament set for Wednesday & Saturday

2017 CCIW Women's Lacrosse Tournament

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana College and Illinois Wesleyan University will host the semifinal rounds of the 2017 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Lacrosse Tournament this Wednesday, May 3.
 
The three-time defending regular season champion Vikings enter this week’s tournament as the No. 1 seed and will host No. 4 North Central at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Fans can follow the game via Augustana’s live stats and live video links.
 
Both the Vikings and Cardinals have qualified for all three CCIW Tournaments held as Augustana is the two-time defending tournament champion.
 
No. 2 seed Illinois Wesleyan will host No. 3 Carthage at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The game can be seen via Illinois Wesleyan’s live stats and live video links.
 
Carthage has also qualified for all three CCIW Tournaments as the Lady Reds advanced to the 2015 tournament championship game, while the Titans played in the tournament final last season in their first conference postseason appearance.
 
For the first time in conference history, the CCIW will have an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship. Wednesday’s winners will play for the tournament title on Saturday, May 6 at the highest remaining seed. Saturday’s winner will earned the automatic bid to the NCAA postseason.
 
Augustana has qualified for the last four NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championships, advancing to the second round each time.
