NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carthage’s
Herman Abban was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Abban, a senior from Accra, Ghana and Accra High School (Exercise & Sport Science major), went 3-1 to open the spring season over the weekend. He defeated St. Mary’s (Minn.) Brenden Amiotte (6-3, 6-0) at No. 1 singles on Friday, and then went 2-0 against Carleton on Saturday. He beat Kevin Mei at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-2) and teamed with Daniel Moore at No. 1 doubles for an 8-6 win over Mei and Aaron Goodman.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL).
