Elmhurst's Knoebel, North Central's Truver named CCIW Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elmhurst’s Grace Knoebel and North Central’s Christina Truver were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.
 
Knoebel, a senior attacker from Hartland, Wisconsin and Arrowhead High School (Biology major), helped lead the Bluejays to a 2-0 record last week, including a game-winning goal against Beloit. She scored six goals in an 11-10 win over the Buccaneers on Wednesday as four of her goals came in the second half. Knoebel found the back of the net from free position with 6:46 left to cut the Beloit lead to 10-9. Isabel Walker followed with her second goal of the game with 4:52 left and Knoebel scored the game-winner from free position with just over two minutes remaining in the contest. She added two goals, three assists and four draw controls in a 15-2 win at Olivet on Saturday.
 
Truver, a sophomore midfielder from Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Fremd High School (English major), totaled seven caused turnovers and 12 ground balls for the 2-0 Cardinals last week. She finished with five caused turnovers and eight ground balls in a 12-10 win at DePauw on Saturday. Truver also finished with three goals and six draw controls against the Tigers. She had two caused turnovers and four ground balls in a 17-6 win over Aurora in the season opener on Wednesday. Truver added two goals, two assists and six draw controls against the Spartans.
