NAPERVILLE – Carroll senior Grace Tumilty and Illinois Wesleyan senior Mia Fiandaca represented the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region Team, according to a Friday announcement.
The IWLCA honored 256 student-athletes in Division III with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2025. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2024 IWLCA Division III All-American teams on May 23. Tumilty and Fiandaca were named to the All-Great Lakes Region Second Team.
This marks the second consecutive All-Region nod for Tumilty, after earning Second Team honors last season. Tumilty – the 2024 CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year – just completed a season in which she led the Pioneers to a 13-4 record. A two-time First Team All-CCIW performer, and an Honorable Mention All-America selection this year by USA Lacrosse Magazine, Tumilty led the league in ground balls with 77, which ranks fifth in Carroll history, while also leading the CCIW in caused turnovers with 67, which ranks second in program history, just seven shy of the single-season school record
The 2025 CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year, Fiandaca earned her second First Team All-CCIW honor and broke the single-season IWU record for caused turnovers, totaling 58 over 12 games, a program-best average of 4.83 per game. She also broke the single-season record for ground balls per game with an average of 3.92, as she led the Titans with 47 ground balls this season. Fiandaca finished with the team lead in goals (36) and points (28), and her average of three goals per game is the second-best season average all-time.
