NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Jessica Deetjen and Carthage’s Emily Lima were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.
 
Deetjen, a sophomore midfielder from Naperville, Illinois and Naperville North High School (Exercise Science major), helped lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 record in CCIW competition last week with 10 goals and four assists. She scored four goals and three assists in a 23-4 win over Elmhurst on April 18, followed by six goals and one assist in a 22-7 win over Dubuque on April 21. Deetjen added six ground balls and two draw controls against the Bluejays, as well as three ground balls and two draw controls against the Spartans.
 
Lima, a sophomore defender from Loveland, Ohio and Kings High School (Nursing major), broke a single season school record for caused turnovers last week. She finished with four caused turnovers and also added four ground balls in a 14-5 win over Concordia-Chicago on April 17, as well as three caused turnovers and five ground balls in a 13-7 win over Carroll on April 19. Lima also added a ground ball in the Lady Reds’ 16-6 win at Augustana on April 21. She currently has 35 caused turnovers so far this season, which broke the previous record of 33 set by Maddie Griffin in 2015.
