NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan's
Patrick Hickey and North Central's
Spencer Wiese were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Soccer Players of the Week on Tuesday.
Hickey, a senior midfielder from Des Plaines, Illinois and St. Viator High School, helped lead the Titans to wins over Augustana and Carthage last week. He notched two goals, including the game-winner, in Illinois Wesleyan's 4-1 win over Augustana on Wednesday. His game-winning goal in the 16th minute gave Hickey the school record for game-winning goals in program history. He also added a goal and an assist in a 3-0 shutout of Carthage on Saturday.
Wiese, a junior defender from Naperville, Illinois and Neuqua Valley High School, helped lead the Cardinals to their sixth win in the last seven matches last week. The Cardinals held the Red Men to four shots on goal in a 2-1 win on October 16 as Wiese scored both of Carthage's goals including the tying goal in the 11th minute and the game-winner in the 73rd minute.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2018-19 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,200 academic all-conference recipients, 18 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 43 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
