NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central's Jeremy Quade and Carroll's Seth Smith were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.

Quade, a senior outfielder from Lockport, Illinois and Lockport Township High School (Sport Management major), batted .600 (12-for-20) with four runs, two doubles, five RBI and a .700 slugging percentage for the 3-2 Cardinals last week. Quade is currently on an eight-game hitting streak and has reached based in 23-straight games. He finished 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI and one double in a 9-2 win at Wheaton on Friday that clinched the CCIW regular season title for the Cardinals. He was also 4-for-4 with an RBI in an 11-1 win over Wheaton on Saturday and went a combined 5-for-10 with two runs, one RBI and one double in a double header split with Millikin on Sunday.

Smith, a senior pitcher from Beloit, Wisconsin and F.J. Turner High School (Athletic Training major), was the winning pitcher in a 5-1 victory over Augustana on Friday. He had a no hitter with two outs in the eighth inning before a ground ball through the left side broke it up. He gave up just one earned run on two hits and seven strikeouts while pitching all nine innings. He finished the game striking out three batters in the ninth inning.
