Illinois Wesleyan's Cyrus, North Central's Behling named CCIW Baseball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s Jacob Cyrus and North Central’s Ryan Behling were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Cyrus, a freshman infielder from Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Glenbard South High School, batted .750 (6-for-8) with a double, home run, 10 RBI and a 1.250 slugging percentage in a double-header sweep of Wartburg in March 13. He was 3-for-4 with two runs, a double, home run and seven RBI in a 13-10 Game 1 victory. In Game 2, Cyrus was 3-for-4 three RBI in a 6-5 win. His seven RBI in Game 1 are the most by a Titan since 2019 and the most by an Illinois Wesleyan freshman since 2007. Cyrus was also 2-for-2 in stolen bases.
 
Behling, a junior pitcher from Itasca, Illinois and Lake Park High School, pitched a nine-inning no hitter in a 4-0 shutout of Spalding on March 14. He allowed only two walks and two hit-by-pitches and tallied six strikeouts. Only one out was recorded out of the infield, which was an eighth-inning fly out to center field.
