NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central junior
Kaeli Smashey was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Barron Collier High School, Smashey went 2-0 while helping lead the Cardinals to an 8-1 win over Wheaton on April 9. Smashey and doubles partner Nina Patience earned an 8-4 victory at the No. 3 spot over Bethany Hoogerheide and Lindsey Anderson. She followed with a 7-5, 2-6, 10-3 win over Emme Lindquist at No. 1 singles.
