NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central's
Annabelle Steiner and Chicago's
Hailey Klinger were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.
Steiner, a senior midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio and Wyoming High School, scored 10 goals for the 1-1 Cardinals last week following a month layoff. She finished with two goals, two ground balls and four caused turnovers against Carroll on April 14, followed by eight goals, four ground balls and two draw controls in an 11-10 victory over Augustana on April 16.
Klinger, a sophomore defender from Wayne, Pennsylvania and Conestoga High School, helped lead the Maroons to a 17-2 win over Carthage on April 14. She led a defensive effort that recorded a season best in goals allowed (2), shots allowed (7) and shots on goal allowed (3). Klinger finished with four ground balls and two caused turnovers in the process.
