Jake Reinhardt and Carroll's
Curtis Sheahan were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week on Tuesday.
Reinhardt, a senior shortstop from Princeton, Illinois and Princeton High School, batted .615 (8-for-13) with five runs, four RBI, and a 1.077 slugging percentage, along with a double, triple and home run for the 2-1 Vikings last week. He was 3-for-4 with two runs, a triple, one home run and three RBI in an 11-1 win over Illinois Wesleyan in Game 1 of a double header on Friday. In Game 2, he was 3-for-5 with a run, RBI, double and home run in an 8-7 win over the Titans. In that game, he dropped down a bunt single in the ninth inning that scored the game-tying run. On Saturday, he was 2-for-4 with a run in a 6-4 loss at Illinois Wesleyan. Reinhardt currently leads NCAA Division III in triples (6) in just 16 games played.
Sheahan, a senior pitcher from Madison, Wisconsin, pitched into the ninth inning and picked up the victory in a 7-3 win over ninth-ranked North Central on Saturday. He scattered eight hits and gave up three runs, but struck out 10 batters and had no walks while earning his first victory on the mound this season as the Pioneers took two of three from the Cardinals over the weekend.
