CCIW Legacy Series: Jim Jodat - Carthage College

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- As the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) continues its 75th anniversary celebration, the conference honors the past student-athletes, coaches and administrators who helped shaped the CCIW during its seven-plus decades of competition.

Each week throughout the summer, CCIW.org will spotlight student-athletes through its Conference Legacy Series. 

Today, we highlight the career of former Carthage College football student-athlete Jim Jodat.

  • NAIA Second Team All-American (1975)
  • CCIW Art Keller Offensive Player of the Year (1975)
  • Four-time All-CCIW selection (1972-75)
  • CCIW career record holder with 3,524 rushing yards in conference games
  • Carthage record holder for most career rushing yards (4,079)
  • Played seven seasons in the NFL including with the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and San Diego Chargers
  • Captained the Rams' special teams in Super Bowl XIV
  • Inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame (1990)
  • Inducted into the Carthage Athletics Hall of Fame (1984)
