North Park's Reinhardt named NCBWA National Hitter of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Park senior shortstop Jake Reinhardt garnered National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Hitter of the Week honors on Wednesday following his performance for the Vikings last week.

A native of Princeton, Illinois and Princeton High School, Reinhardt was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Hitter of the Week on Tuesday as he hit eight home runs, drove in 21 RBI, scored 11 runs and slugged 1.286 for the 3-3 Vikings last week. He batted .429 (12-for-28) during the week. He hit all eight home runs in a four-game series against Carthage May 1-2 including three in the series finale on May 2. He also had two six-RBI games including a 13-2 win over the Firebirds on May 1 and a 17-6 win on May 2. Reinhardt is currently tied for the national lead with 14 home runs and tied for third nationally with 57 RBI this season. Reinhardt's 14 home runs tied the North Park single-season record.
