NAPERVILLE, Ill. – In the midst of a season-opening 13-match unbeaten streak, North Central’s Jaziel Enriquez and Sid Marquardt have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday morning. The Cardinals won two league matches last week to improve to 10-0-3 on the season.

Enriquez, a sophomore from Aurora, Ill., is the CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after coming off the bench to score in each of NCC’s league wins on the road last week. His 61st-minute strike provided insurance for North Central in its 3-1 triumph at Wheaton last Wednesday. He followed with another second-half goal to push the Cardinals to their second 3-1 win of the week on Saturday at Carthage.

Marquardt made saves in each of the Cardinals’ wins last week. Both of his saves came at critical points in the first half in each victory. Marquardt is now 9-0-2 this season ranks 19th nationally with five shutouts in 2022. He's now won the CCIW weekly award twice this season.
