NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central sophomore Drew Guimond has been voted College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, according to a Tuesday afternoon announcement from the league office.
The Bloomington, Ill. native had a breakout performance for the fourth-ranked Cardinals last Saturday at the Augustana Interregional Invitational at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, placing 25th overall in the 8K race with a time of 24:26.21. His effort, nearly a minute faster than his career-best 8K time on the same course in last season’s Regional Championship, allowed NCC to place second as a team in a loaded field that included top-ranked Pomona Pitzer.
