PEWAUKEE, Wis. – Illinois Wesleyan extended its lead during the second round of the 2022 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Golf Championship on Friday, compiling a team total of 309 to push its lead to 23 shots at Naga-Waukee War Memorial Golf Course in Pewaukee, Wis. IWU’s Lexi Onsrud shot a 74 Friday to lead the field through 36 holes.
Onsrud, who carded a 77 on Thursday, has a two-round total of 151 to lead second-place Lizzy Stone (155) of Wheaton by four strokes. IWU teammates Emma Thorman and Macy Ludwig are tied for fourth with a two-day total of 156, and Augustana’s Avery Frick is fifth at 159, one of three Vikings currently in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard. Six players will enter the final round on Saturday within nine shots of the lead.
The Titans’ team total through two rounds is 620. Augustana is second at 643 and Millikin is third at 666. IWU has a tournament-best 19 birdies as a team, six of which have come from Ludwig.
The final round of the championship is scheduled for Saturday in Pewaukee at 10 a.m.
