PEWAUKEE, Wis. – On the strength of medalist Lexi Onsrud and five other Titans in the top 10 of the individual leaderboard, Illinois Wesleyan won the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Golf Championship, Saturday evening at Naga-Waukee War Memorial Golf Course in Pewaukee, Wis. The Titans shot a three-round 925 to win the event by 45 strokes.
 
IWU shot 311 Thursday, 309 Friday and 305 Saturday to coast to its 17th CCIW women’s golf title and its sixth crown in the last eight seasons. Onsrud carded a 76 on Saturday to finish the 54-hole event at 227, besting teammate Emma Thorman by three shots to win the individual title. IWU’s Macy Ludwig was third with a 232.
 
Titans’ head coach Patrick Freeman was voted CCIW Coach of the Year, the fifth time he has earned the league-wide honor.
 
Onsrud, who was the event’s runner up last season, is Illinois Wesleyan’s first CCIW medalist since Jordan Koehler in 2016 and the 12th Titan to earn medalist honors in the event’s history.
 
Augustana placed second as a team with a 970, led by Grace Loverde’s 242 to finish tied for sixth individually. Elena Kuczkowski was eighth for the Vikings with a three-round score of 244. Millikin was third as a team at 1,005 and Elmhurst finished fourth with a three-day total of 1,017.
