Wheaton's Klein, Augustana's Wintroub named CCIW Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton's Joe Klein and Augustana's Josh Wintroub were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Klein, a junior infielder from Wheaton, Illinois and Wheaton North High School, batted .545 (6-for-11) with six runs, one double, two home runs, eight RBI and a 1.182 slugging percentage last week. He also finished with a .615 on-base percentage. Klein was 3-for-3 with four runs, a walk, two home runs and six RBI in Wheaton's 15-4 win at Illinois Wesleyan on Monday. He also hit an RBI-double, scored a run and drew a walk last Tuesday in a 5-4 Thunder win at Millikin. Klein was 2-for-4 on Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader at North Central, with a run and an RBI.

Wintroub, a senior pitcher from Littleton, Colorado and Heritage High School, pitched a seven-inning no-hitter during a 10-0 shutout of Cornell on Sunday. He also struck out 14 batters and gave up just four walks. With Sunday's victory, Wintroub improved to 5-0 on the season.
