CCIW announces 2022 All-Conference Baseball Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced today the 32 members of the 2022 All-Conference Baseball Team.

Additionally, the conference announced its season-ending award recipients, and the nine RESPECT Award winners.

North Park senior catcher Ranko Stevanovic became the Vikings' second-straight CCIW Student-Athlete of the Year recipient following Jake Reinhardt in 2021. He is North Park's sixth winner of the CCIW's Hitter of the Year award as he batted .361 (26-for-72) with 22 runs, five doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 25 RBI and a .750 slugging percentage in 18 conference games this season.

Wheaton junior Brendan Dyer was named the CCIW Pitcher of the Year on Wednesday. He became the third Thunder athlete to win this award, joining Trey Martin (2014) and Michael McCraith (2017). Dyer was 5-0 with a 2.42 ERA and 17 strikeouts in five conference appearances.

Millikin freshman outfielder Tyler Gade earned CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year honors as he batted .343 (23-for-67) with 17 runs, two doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI and a .686 slugging percentage in 18 conference games. Gade is Millikin's first-ever First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year recipient. 

Wheaton's Matt Husted was named the CCIW Coach of the Year for the second time in his career after leading the Thunder to a tie for second place and the No. 3 seed in the CCIW Tournament this week. Wheaton finished 11-7 in conference play and moved up six spots in the CCIW standings following an eighth place finish in 2021.

RESPECT Award: At the conclusion of every sports season, each varsity program will recognize one student-athlete as their RESPECT Award honoree. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
