NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton's Harrison Stanton and North Central's Charlie Klemm were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Stanton, a sophomore infielder/outfielder from Elmhurst, Illinois and Timothy Christian High School, batted .571 (8-for-14) with six runs, one double, three triples, one home run, four RBI and a 1.286 slugging percentage last week. He had a .700 on-base percentage and added six walks this past week. Stanton's three triples helped propel Wheaton to first place in Division III in triples per game (0.82) and third in overall triples (27). He was 2-for-3 with two walks in Saturday's 7-6 victory against Carroll; where he added one home run, a triple, scored a run and had two RBI. His second RBI in that game broke a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning. Stanton was 3-for-4 in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Carroll as he hit two triples, stole a base and scored two runs. Last Tuesday, he was 2-for-4, with two walks, a double, two runs and an RBI in an 11-5 win over Chicago. He recorded a hit and drew two walks in a 7-4 win at North Park on Friday.

Klemm, a senior pitcher from Darien, Illinois and Hinsdale South High School, pitched the Cardinals to their seventh-straight CCIW regular season title in a 3-2 win over Elmhurst on Saturday. He moved to 7-1 on the season as he pitched five innings, struck out eight batters and gave up just one walk. He also gave up just one hit and one earned run against the Bluejays.
