NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Park freshman midfielder Love Brandt and North Central freshman defender Daniel Navarro are the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Brandt is the league’s Offensive winner after a two-goal, one-assist effort in the sixth-ranked Vikings’ 3-0 shutout of WashU last Wednesday in Chicago. Brandt finished a header for the match-winning goal at 32:22. The Norrköping, Sweden native’s effort allowed NPU to extend its season opening win streak to six.

Navarro, a native of Niles, Ill. and the Defensive winner this week, helped anchor an NCC backline that recorded two shutouts last week, including a 3-0 blanking of #24 Wartburg last Saturday afternoon in Naperville. The Cardinals were a perfect 3-0-0 for the week, yielding only one goal on a penalty kick.
