NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s Caelyn Steffens has been named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week and North Central’s Ellie Lochbaum has been selected CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Steffens, a fifth-year forward/midfielder from Normal, Ill. and the two-time CCIW Women’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Year, assisted on the Titans’ only goal in a 1-1 draw with Simpson last Thursday. She followed that effort with a 36th-minute goal in a 5-1 romp at Knox in Galesburg, Ill. Tuesday's announcement marks Steffens's fourth career CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week selection.
 
Defensively, Lochbaum played the full 90 minutes twice and anchored North Central’s back line in limiting its opponents to 10 combined shot attempts in the Cardinals’ shutout victories over Aurora (1-0) and Benedictine (7-0).  The junior from Sycamore, Ill. also put a shot attempt on frame in last Saturday’s win over Benedictine.
